The US Climate Innovation sector is a complex web of stakeholders, governmental organizations, business, funding, and climate tech initiatives. These initiatives tend to be technosolutionist and prioritize greenhouse gas-focused solutions to climate change that scale in an economic sense. However, environmental justice and equity groups across the US have called out the inequity in this system–and raised the question of how to prioritize more ECJ type initiatives, technologies, procedures, and outputs–in the system. This project, in collaboration with Environmental Defense Fund–conducted a landscape assessment and systems analysis of the US Climate Innovation sector and made recommendations towards how the sector can improve in advancing ECJ.
